You can read every page on Sussed without telling us anything. This page says what we hold once you send a request, leave a review or report something, who sees it, and how to have it changed or removed. The full notice is on the privacy page.
When you send a request
We keep your name, email address, phone number, what you need help with, your district, the rough loan size, and anything you wrote in the message box, plus the time, the address the request came from, and the wording you agreed to.
Who sees it:
- One adviser at a time. Until they accept, an adviser sees what you need, your district and the loan size, but not your name, email or phone number.
- The adviser who accepts. They get your name, email, phone number and message, and we email you to say who has them.
- Other advisers, only if you agreed. If the first adviser doesn't respond and you ticked the box, up to three other advisers who cover your district, one at a time, and then one we find by ringing around if nobody nearby can take it. Never several at once.
- The person who runs Sussed, to run the service, sort out problems and check that advisers are behaving.
We keep the request so you and the adviser can see what happened and so we can bill the adviser. Withdrawing it stops it going any further, but an adviser who has already accepted keeps the details you agreed to share.
When you leave a review
We keep your first name, your district if you gave it, your email address, what the adviser helped with and when, and the review. Your first name and district are published with the review; your email address never is. We keep it so we can confirm the review was yours and so nobody can review the same adviser twice.
When you report something
We keep the reason, what you wrote, your email address if you gave one, and the address the report came from, so we can look into it and reply.
Cookies and analytics
Two cookies are ours: one keeps you signed in for 30 days after you click a link we email you, and one carries your answers between the screens of the request form until you send it. We also use Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta's advertising tools, which set their own cookies and receive an identifier for your browser and the pages you visit here, never your name, email or phone number. Our server keeps ordinary access logs for up to 30 days. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, and the site still works.
Where it's kept
On servers in Australia run by our hosting provider, with email sent through a transactional email service. There are no passwords to leak: you sign in with a link we email you.
Seeing, correcting or removing it
Email hello@sussed.co.nz or call 03 926 6646 to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it removed. We reply within 20 working days, usually much sooner. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
