Claiming your profile

Updated 15 Sep 2026

Claiming your profile proves you are the adviser the page describes, and it unlocks everything else: your own words and photo on the page, introductions from clients who chose you, reviews, and the settings to pause or remove the listing. It's free, and everything except your name is optional.

Before you start

You log in to Sussed with an email address. Each time, we send a link to that address and you click it; there is no password. If you have an email address on your website or your firm's, log in with that one.

Step 1: find your profile

Go to Claim your profile and search by your name or your FSP number. The search covers every adviser on the public record, whether or not they are listed on Sussed yet. Press "This is me" beside your name.

If you're not there, our copy of the record may be older than your registration. The page shows the date of the copy; if you registered after it, email us and we add you when the next monthly copy lands.

If your result says "Not yet listed as a mortgage adviser on Sussed", claim it anyway. Sussed lists mortgage advisers by hand, and claiming tells us that is the work you do. We switch your listing on once we've checked.

Step 2: confirm it's you

The next page shows the facts we hold for that adviser. Check the name, the FSP number and the licence holder, then press "Yes, claim this profile". If you aren't logged in yet, you're asked to log in first and brought straight back.

If the page says the profile has already been claimed, someone else has verified it. If that's a mistake, email us with your FSP number and we'll sort it out.

Step 3: verification

We check that the person claiming is the adviser the record names, using details published for you and your firm, and the record itself. We don't publish how, so it can't be faked.

Sometimes the check passes on the spot, and the page says "You're verified". Otherwise it says "Verification pending": a person checks the claim, usually within two working days, and we email you when it's approved.

While a claim is pending you can set up your profile straight away. Nothing you write is public, and no client's details are released to you, until the claim is approved.

Step 4: set up your profile

One page, and everything on it is optional except the name you go by. Add a photo, a headline, a few paragraphs about who you help, your firm, how clients reach you, the districts you take clients from, your specialities and languages, the lenders you work with, and a link to your disclosure statement. You can skip it and come back from your account at any time. Your profile goes through each part.

Step 5: your profile is live

Once your claim is approved and your listing is switched on, clients in your districts can find you, read what you wrote, and request an introduction. Your page shows "Verified" with the date you claimed it, in place of "Unclaimed", and search engines are allowed to index it.

After you've claimed

  • Your account shows every introduction as it arrives. How introductions work explains the offer, the deadline, and what happens after you accept.
  • Change any part of your profile from "Profile" in your account. Every save shows you the public page as clients see it.
  • Claim only your own profile. A claim we find was made by someone else is withdrawn.
